Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a day-shift position requiring ARDMS certification and at least 1 year of ultrasound/sonography experience, with Epic EMR proficiency required.

  • Routine and specialized ultrasound examinations performed under the direction of a radiologist
  • \n
  • Patient population includes all ages
  • \n
  • Procedures include abdominal arterial and venous system assessment using color imaging, biopsy assistance, and sterile tray setup
  • \n
  • Epic EMR charting experience required
  • \n
  • Day shift, 8-hour shifts with start times varying between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM
  • \n
  • 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
  • \n
  • Call coverage required on weekends and possibly on holidays
  • \n
  • May be required to float to affiliated Carle Health system hospitals
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in ultrasound/sonography
  • \n
  • Associate's Degree in Ultrasound/Sonography or Certificate of completion of an Ultrasound/Sonography program
  • \n
  • Active ARDMS certification
  • \n
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • \n
  • Epic EMR charting experience required
  • \n
  • Proficiency in equipment operation, troubleshooting, sterile field setup, and biopsy assistance
  • \n
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • \n
  • License required if applicable
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Performs routine and specialized ultrasound exams, adapting procedures using independent judgment to obtain specific diagnostic results
  • \n
  • Responsibilities include imaging required anatomical views, enhancing image quality through appropriate transducer and machine settings, and evaluating finished images before submission to radiologists
  • \n
  • Sets up sterile trays, assists radiologists with biopsies, and orders labs and pathology tests under radiologist direction
  • \n
  • Maintains and coordinates patient flow and promptly enters patient information into HIS system for efficient throughput
  • \n
  • Participates in QA, QC, and QI program maintenance
  • \n
  • Shares knowledge and assists in training fellow technologists and students
  • \n
  • Candidate interviews are conducted by the facility's clinical leadership
  • \n
  • RTO is not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • \n
  • Contingent workers may not be on continuous assignment for more than 1 year at any Carle Health location; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
