American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a specialized Medical-Surgical unit focused on Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Transplant, and Medicine patients at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Details- Medical-Surgical unit within a large, short-term acute care hospital (1,266 staffed beds)
- Unit specializes in Cystic Fibrosis, lung transplant, and medicine patients, with overflow of standard medical patients
- Care model is primary care nursing
- Patient ratios of 1:3–5
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
- Block scheduling is not available
- Epic EMR used; experience required
- No on-call requirements
- Active MO RN license required at time of consideration; compact license accepted if MO is included
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Standard travelers may remain for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Parking passes are available for purchase at various campus locations; night shift workers park at no charge in employee parking
