SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION: 

In this hands-on position, the Quality Engineer is responsible for all Quality Compliance aspects of the assembly processes to ensure the highest levels of quality processes and products as indicated by industry standards and as directed by management.  


RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  •  Oversee tests and monitor activities such as software configuration verification
  • Review designs, changes, and plans of specifications and processes including Control Plans, Risk management document(s).·         
  • Oversee tests and monitor activities such as software configuration verification
  • Track and review corrective and preventive actions
  • Customer interaction on Quality, complains and reliability including post shipment communications.
  • Collaborate with team to identify and implement process improvements
  • Ensure project and processes meet all requirements and reliability standards
  • Create, implement, and manage all in-house ISO quality procedures (ISO9001, ISO13485, AS9100, FA reports, TAR and Traceability requirements) for the assembly facility. 
  • Responsible for Internal, external and Customer audits and reports.
  • Train & certify Assembly QA Team to ensure the highest levels of quality products are produced.  
  • Create and implement a Quality Assurance Program to include all procedures for error free assemblies.
  • Setup guidelines and QA procedures to ensure only components which adhere to customer BOMs and AVLs are used on all assemblies.  
  • Responsible for timely Calibration, maintenance and Hazardous material reporting and management.
  • Coordinate with Assembly and other internal departments to ensure quality compliance standards.   
  • Meet regularly with management to discuss short/long-term goals for the business unit.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual reviews for direct reports in a timely manner and provide performance counseling as necessary. 
  • Responsible for all reports requested by management and create new reports as needed.
  • Respond to internal and external customers in a timely manner for the business unit.  
  • Professionally represent the company to outside customers and business partners.  
  • Work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after hour emergency calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • BS in Engineering, Electrical or Business Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Quality Engineer of Electronic Assembly House.
  • 8-10 years experience in the Electronic industry.
  • Thorough understanding of IPC-A-610 and other relevant assembly standards is a must.
  • Prior experience in creating and implementing ISO 9000.
  • Solid business decision making abilities and excellent judgment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and able to use tact and good judgment in contacts with customers and business partners.  
  • Ability to solve practical problems using pre-established guidelines to deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Strong ability in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT etc.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong people management skills.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Highly organized and ability to work with minimum supervision while maintaining effective time management.  
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after hour emergency calls.
  • Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.


Salary:  $85K - $95K Annually

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift 20 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.


ENVIRONMENT: 

  • The manufacturing facility is exposed to electronics assembly equipment and materials.
  • May require working in a controlled environment with specific temperature and humidity requirements.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to perform the work.
  • Production floor- Machine shop environment
