Emergency Medicine Physician

Job Opportunity: Locum Physician - Emergency Medicine in Pomeroy, OH

Join a dynamic healthcare team serving the Pomeroy, Ohio area, where Holzer Meigs, Gallipolis, and Jackson Emergency Departments are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine provider. Our free-standing Meigs ED handles an average of 25-35 patients per day and is staffed 24/7 by physicians. This position requires a commitment of a minimum of 5 shifts per month, with a preference for 8-10 shifts, and provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a community-focused setting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality emergency medical care in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage patient documentation independently.
• Handle emergency codes within the ED.
• Collaborate with the Hospitalist team for patient admissions, as the ED does not manage admissions.
• Request consultations and transfer patients when necessary to a tertiary trauma center.

Qualifications:

• Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (ABMS or AOA).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Ability to work both nights and weekends.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active Ohio state medical license (or IMLC with proof of LOQ).
• Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS.
• COVID Vaccination required.
• NRP certification required.
