Business Manager - Sales / Marketing

LocalNews1.org is a growing online news outlet with multiple products serving Southeast Franklin County PA and Northeast Washington County MD.

We want a dynamic and driven Sales and Marketing Specialist to join our small, locally-focused online news company. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about both sales and marketing in the digital space and wants to contribute to the growth of a community-driven media platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies, goals and quotas to increase subscriptions, advertising, brand awareness, generate leads, and boost revenue while fostering relationships with local businesses and organizations. As part of a tight-knit team, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company’s overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies including digital marketing campaigns across various platforms (social media, email, website, etc.) to attract and maintain local readers, businesses, and advertisers.

· Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for growth within the community.

· Coordinate with the editorial team to promote content and events that align with local interests.

· Track and analyze key marketing and sales performance metrics, reporting on ROI and adjusting strategies accordingly.

· Support community outreach initiatives, partnering with local organizations and businesses to enhance the company's presence.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience in sales, marketing, or business development, preferably in a media or digital environment.

· Strong understanding of online marketing tools, including social media, SEO, email campaigns, and digital advertising.

· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, fast-paced environment.

· Passion for local news and community-focused initiatives.

Preferred:

· Experience with content marketing, web analytics, and social media strategy.

· Familiarity with local advertising landscape and community trends.

Pay based on experience and ability to rapidly expand sales. Hours are flexible. Range of schedules can be accommodated; salary / commission negotiable.
