Job Description\nAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Acute Care night shift assignment requiring an active IL RN license and BLS certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n- Hospital acute care setting on the Med/Surg Acute Care Unit
- 18-bed unit with mostly private rooms
- General medical patient population with a variety of diagnoses
- Nurse to patient ratios: 4-5:1 on days, 5-6:1 on nights
- Work schedule is 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700), three shifts per week
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Travel RNs are first to float to other units as needed
- Orientation consists of one 12-hour shift with a unit preceptor
- Unit uses Epic EMR
- Uses Phillips telemetry equipment for remote monitoring
- RNs are expected to start IVs and utilize unit resources as needed
- Two PCTs per shift assist with patient care
- 24/7 charge RN and house supervisor coverage
- Unit dress code allows any color scrubs except pediatric patterns
- No call required for this position
- No COVID-19 vaccine requirement for this assignment
- Local candidates are accepted at a different rate if residing within 50 miles
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification from AHA required
- Minimum of 1 year recent hospital Med/Surg experience preferred
- Ability to titrate Heparin drips
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
