The Medical Assistant performs clerical and clinical functions that assist in the provision of care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician./p pCHCB offers competitive pay and benefits for Full and Part Time staff including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Supplemental Insurances, 401k, Tuition Assistance and Paid Time Off./p pPrevious experience as a Medical Assistant, HHA, PCA or CNA preferred./p pstrongDuties and Responsibilities:/strong/p pstrongGeneral:/strong/p ul liAdheres to agency policies and procedures regarding confidentiality/li liParticipates in quality improvement activities/li liCommunicates effectively with patients and staff/li liMaintains a professional manner in interacting with patients and staff/li liAdheres to infection control principles/li liParticipates in and contributes to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities and functions as needed./li /ul pstrongSpecific:/strong/p ul liMaintains clean, safe, orderly work environment/li liPerforms clerical duties to maintain efficient patient flow/li liPrepares patients for examinations and procedures/li liPrepares rooms for examinations and procedures/li liAssists providers with examinations and procedures/li liPerforms routine diagnostic tests/li liCollects and processes specimens/li liMaintains supplies for patient rooms/li liMaintains equipment according to agency policy/li liMaintains the integrity of the medical record/li liMaintains documentation in logs as appropriate/li liProvides patient education/li liRecognizes emergency situations and notifies appropriate personnel/li liRegular attendance is required/li liAttends meetings as required/li liPerforms other relevant duties as assigned or requested/li /ul pstrongPhysical Demands:/strong Requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Evening work may be required./p pstrongMinimum Qualifications:/strong/p pHigh school diploma or high school equivalency diploma. Nursing or Medical Assistant Diploma. Three (3) years� experience. Computer literacy. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook./p pstrongPreferred Qualifications:/strong/p pHigh school diploma or high school equivalency diploma. Certified Nursing or Medical Assistant diploma. Five (5) years� experience in an ambulatory setting. Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants. Computer literacy. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
