pspanThe Laboratory Technologist 1 main duties include data entry, specimen processing and analysis of clinical samples. Responsibilities may be limited to one testing area or may overlap across lab departments. This position also provides support to the clinic personnel and clients in the ordering of laboratory tests and proper specimen collection. All laboratory technologists report to department supervisors and the laboratory manager./span/p pspan /span/p pspanCurrent disciplines of testing at Valley Medical include toxicology, molecular, immunology and infectious disease./span/p pspanPrimary Responsibilities:/span/p ul lispan/spanspanReceive and organize laboratory samples/span/li lispan/spanspanSample processing, analysis and reporting of results/span/li lispan/spanspanPerform and evaluate quality control and calibrations/span/li lispan/spanspanInstrument maintenance and troubleshooting/span/li /ul ul lispan/spanspanPrepare reagents, controls and standards as appropriate per assay/test system SOP./span/li lispan/spanspanAnalyze proficiency samples as a part of standard patient workflow/span/li lispan/spanspanCreate and submit reports to laboratory management/span/li lispan/spanspanDocument corrective and preventative action in all testing procedures/span/li lispan/spanspanAssemble test kits/span/li lispan/spanspanManage inventory/span/li lispan/spanspanAble to analyze data to distinguish questionable assay performance and escalate as appropriate./span/li lispan/spanspanOperate and maintain robotic liquid handling instrumentation and equipment/span/li lispan/spanspanFollow all Valley Medical policies and procedures/span/li lispan/spanspanProvide customer service to Valley Medical staff and clients/span ul lispan/spanspanOther duties as assigned/span/li /ul /li /ul pspan /span/p pspanRequired Education, Experience and Credentials:/span/p ul lispan/spanspanBachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in chemical, biological, or Medical Laboratory Science or a two year associates degree and certified as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (ASCP or equivalent)/span/li lispan/spanspanAbility to work independently/span/li lispan/spanspanProficient in Microsoft Office Suite/span/li lispan/spanspanAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time/span/li lispan/spanspanAble to work in fast-paced environment to maintain test quality and efficiency/span/li /ul pbr/p pbr/p pspanPreferred Skills and Knowledge:/span/p ul lispan/spanspanAt least 1+ year of laboratory work experience./spanspan/span/li lispan/spanspanExperience with immunoassay analyzers, LC/MS systems, PCR/span/li lispan/spanspanPrevious experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)./spanspan/span/li lispan/spanspanPrevious experience with an Electronic Medical Records System (EMR)./spanspan/span/li /ul pspan /span/p pbr/p pspanAdditional Position Details: (emhours, locations, commute)/em/span/p pbr/p ul lispanSchedule is 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, /spanspanMonday through Friday but may vary based upon business needs and growth of services./span/li lispanJob location is the Corporate Lab located in Burnsville, MN/span/li lispan/spanspanThere is no commuting requirement for the position as a normal part of work responsibilities./span/li /ul pbr/p pspanspan style="font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;"span style="font-size: 16px;"Compensation range is dependent on verified degrees, certification and number of years in equivalent work experience:  $22.00-$28.00 per hour. /span/span/span/p pbr/p pspanFLSA Status: /spanspanNon-Exempt/span/p pbr/p pspanspan style="font-size: 16px;"We accept OPT and CPT./span/span/p
