assigned clerical duties associated with WAGI Laboratory/liliEnsure proper accessioning and labeling of all tissue samplesnbsp;/liliProcess paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting/liliResponsible for discarding specimen containers/liliPreparing and Processing of Lab Specimen/liliCompetency with venipuncture/liliEnsure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA regulations/liliPrepares patient for examination by greeting patient in a positive, professional manner, gathering patient vitals, including weight, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration#39;s, and escorting patient to exam room/liliUpdates and documents patient#39;s current medications, problem list, allergies, and health history, and relevant problems and/or complaints in the patient medical recordnbsp;/liliProvides instruction, education, and direction to patients on routine medical questions, procedures and ordered testsnbsp;/liliAssists patients with prescription refill requests within Washington Gastroenterology policynbsp;/liliManages nursing in-box requests and maintains the sample medication supplies and the patient care supply inventorynbsp;/liliSupports administrative functions of the medical office by assisting the administrative staff when needed/liliObtains insurance authorization for necessary medications prescribed by Washington Gastroenterology providersnbsp;/liliSchedules patient procedure, lab, and x-ray appointments, as well as follow-up visits for the patientnbsp;/liliObtains pre-procedure medical clearance from outside providers for patients with cardiac and other high-risk modalities/liliDocuments all patient care encounters accurately, completely, and in a timely manner/liliMaintains exam rooms, cleansing between patients and restocking as needed/li/ulpnbsp;/ppstrongQualifications/strong/pul type="disc"liGraduate of accredited Medical Assistant programnbsp;/liliPrevious experience in a clinical setting preferred/liliCurrent license as MA-C in the State of Washington/liliPhlebotomy skills required nbsp;/liliCurrent BLS certificationnbsp;/liliAs a healthcare organization, the candidate must be fully
