If so, we want you on our team!/p pCSI is looking to hire a focused and detailed individual � who takes great pride in their craftsmanship � for the Manual Machinist 2 position./p pThis is a diverse position with a wide variety of responsibilities requiring a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a variety of working conditions. As the machining department centers almost entirely around a job-shop type environment, work assignments and workloads will vary. This position will require the use of a variety of machining equipment and techniques. To obtain the level 2 position, all areas of level 1 must be mastered and most areas of level 2 should be able to be performed. Mastery of a skill will be indicated by meeting the requirements of the machining department (speed, quality, consistency, profitability)./p pThe primary business focus centers around 300 series stainless steel, however, due to our diverse customer base; the opportunity for working with other alloys will arise. Persons in this position must exhibit personal characteristics such as pride in the quality of work produced and a strong desire to uphold a variety of stringent standards governing many of the products we produce./p pCSI employees are engaged daily in the company�s culture, committed to our core values and have a passion for excellence in order to successfully drive and support the company�s goals, vision and mission./p pEmployee Core Value Vision:br / � Goal setting (personal and professional)br / � Customer centric focus (internal and external)br / � Risk taker - willing to step out of comfort zonebr / � Recognizing failures and applying lessons learnedbr / � Positive approach to conflict to avoid stagnation within the organizationbr / � Continuous personal and professional developmentbr / � Question and challenge the status quo when necessary/p pSalary: $22 - $27 per hour/p pThe job functions listed are a guideline and may require updating as changes occur./p pPrimary Functions/p pRun manual lathe and mill/p ul liJacketed tube assemblies/li liTransfer panels (standard and non-standard)/li liMutator: machine drive and bearing/li liBlind flanges/li liHose barbs/li liDay to day jobs, as needed/li liEffective use of the following equipment:/li liHorizontal mill/li liAbrasive saw/li liGF and cutoff saws/li liBand saw/li liDisk sander/li liUltrasonic parts washer/li /ul pManual machining of standard and non-standard components including, but not limited to:/p ul liFormulas, practical geometry, and trigonometry/li liProper sharpening of twist drills/li liProper tap drill selection/li liProper use and lubrication of machine shop equipment/li liAppropriate use and application of dial indicators/li liSetup and perform tool changes/li liTool grinding/li liCutting internal and external threads/li liRecord heat number, bar, and/or tubing used on the BOM/li liBlue print reading and understanding of current drafting standards and symbols/li liSafe clean-up procedures for all machine shop equipment/li liFamiliarity with and ability to locate and apply information in the machinist handbook/li /ul pEffective use of the following measuring devices:/p ul liCalipers/li liSpring calipers/li liDial indicators/li liMicrometers/li liPortable surface roughness gage/li liSteel scales within .005 accuracy/li liOther measuring devices/li /ul pOther requirements include:/p ul liUse of correct bar/li liRecord heat numbers and bar amounts/li liRemoval of all chips for incoming shift/li liGeneral maintenance and cleaning of machining equipment/li /ul pPosition Requirements:br / Education/Training:/p ul liHigh school diploma or equivalent, required/li liApplicable trade school experience preferred, but not mandatory/li /ul pExperience:/p ul liMinimum 3 years manual machining experience, preferred/li /ul pbr / It is generally expected that a machinist will be required to work on average 45 hours during the normal workweek. However, due to the sporadic nature of our production requirements, work hours may be increased or decreased throughout the normal workweek to correspond with the man-hour capacity required. The potential for additional overtime hours on Saturday and/or Sunday may be requested or required at times. No overtime is guaranteed./p pMachining positions require constant bending, kneeling, and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance. Visual acuity is required to perform work using close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to environmental factors typical of polishing and grinding. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, such as gloves, safety glasses and steel toe shoes./p pCSI has a long standing policy of Equal Opportunity in employment.
