As the machining department centers almost entirely around a job-shop type environment, work assignments and workloads will vary. This position will require the use of a variety of machining equipment and techniques. To obtain the level 2 position, all areas of level 1 must be mastered and most areas of level 2 should be able to be performed. Mastery of a skill will be indicated by meeting the requirements of the machining department (speed, quality, consistency, profitability)./p pThe primary business focus centers around 300 series stainless steel, however, due to our diverse customer base; the opportunity for working with other alloys will arise. However, due to the sporadic nature of our production requirements, work hours may be increased or decreased throughout the normal workweek to correspond with the man-hour capacity required. The potential for additional overtime hours on Saturday and/or Sunday may be requested or required at times. No overtime is guaranteed./p pMachining positions require constant bending, kneeling, and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance. Visual acuity is required to perform work using close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to environmental factors typical of polishing and grinding.
