pstrongJob Summary:/strong/p
pThe Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher is primarily responsible for operating, maintaining, and cleaning equipment and tools. This position is also responsible for washing dishes, china, flatware, cutlery, crockery, kitchen vessels, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and detailing equipment, etc., and maintaining the kitchen, dishwashing and back area in an inspection-ready condition in accordance with local authorities and hotel guidelines./p
pstrongDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:/strong/p
ul
liEnsure the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized at all times./li
liEnsure floors are dry and clean at all times, using appropriate safety signage when necessary./li
liOperate dishwashing machinery and maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards./li
liAdhere to all sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe working environment./li
liAssist the culinary and serving staff as, and when, necessary./li
liCollects and removes trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures./li
liDispose of waste as per the hotel and authority standards and adhere to recycling guidelines./li
liEnsure waste bin area is kept clean and tidy./li
liCarry out general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping up, washing up, emptying of rubbish bins and boxes ensuring placement in the correct containers/li
liClean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established procedures./li
liClean and maintain floors and walls in kitchen and dish washing area by following standard procedures./li
liClean large equipment as assigned, following established procedures./li
liConsistently adhere to SDS (Safety Data Sheet) information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace./li
liKnowledge and proficiency in operating industrial dish washing equipment./li
liEnsure all equipment is clean and in good working order./li
liCheck all chemical levels and inventory./li
liWash, wipe, sort, stack and store all cleaned items in an organized and safe manner./li
liRemove any breakage or chipped items found from circulation and update the breakage and inventory register./li
liClean, sanitize and close workstations./li
liUse and maintain all equipment according to manufacturer and department guidelines./li
liReport any maintenance or hazard issues to the chief steward / stewarding manager./li
liAssist in light food preparation as directed by manager or chef on duty./li
liThe Kitchen Steward, upon demonstrated job performance excellence, will be considered for numerous growth opportunities./li

liPrevious experience as a Dishwasher or a similar role is preferred but not mandatory./li
liBasic knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices./li
liPhysical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks./li
liAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure./li
liExcellent attention to detail, ensuring that dishes and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized./li
liStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members./li
liFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per the needs of the restaurant./li
