In this role, you will provide crucial support and advocacy for youth who have experienced trauma, abuse, or violence. This entry-level position is located on the island of Unalaska and requires strong communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to serving the community. This is a grant funded part-time position, with an approved period of performance until December 31, 2025. There is potential for transition to a related grant, supporting ongoing related programs and development initiatives, contingent upon funding approval./p pbr/p pJob Duties and Responsibilities:/p pbr/p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"Direct Support: /spanOffer emotional support and crisis intervention to youth who have experienced trauma or victimization./p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"Advocacy: /spanServe as a voice for youth in navigating legal, medical, and social service systems to ensure their needs are met and their rights are being protected./p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"Case Management: /spanAssist in developing and implementing individualized plans to address the needs of each youth, including coordinating services such as counseling, medical care, and legal assistance./p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"Education and Outreach: /spanConduct community outreach and education programs to raise awareness about youth victimization and available resources./p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"Collaboration: /spanWork collaboratively with other professionals, including law enforcement, social workers, healthcare providers, and educators, to provide comprehensive support to youth and their families./p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"Documentation: /spanMaintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, services provided, and progress made toward goals./p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"Crisis Response: /spanBe available for on-call support and respond promptly to crises as they arise. span style="font-weight: bold;"Continuous Learning: /spanStay informed about best practices in victim advocacy, trauma-informed care, and relevant laws and regulations through training and professional development opportunities./p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"Cultural Healing: /spanCoordinate the facilitation culturally relevant traditional healing services for youth activities or workshops./p pKnowledge, Skills Abilities:/p ul librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to build and maintain positive relationships with Tribal, community and staff /span/li /ul pspan style="font-size: 16px;"br/span/p ul librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to foster new and existing relationships with business /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to maintain regular and open communications with coworkers and partner /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to conduct work through the lens of justice, equity, diversity, and /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be sensitive to community cultural /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must have strong verbal and written communication /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be sensitive to community cultural /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to work independently with some direct supervision/guidance./span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be familiar with Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Excel, Word, and SharePoint./span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to perform routine and non-routine department related tasks with /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to follow oral and written /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must have working knowledge of Microsoft 365 /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to work /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to lift 50 /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to work in inclement weather/span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background /span/li librspan style="font-size: 16px;"Must have an Alaska Driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 90 days of working for the Tribe, unless a waiver is granted./span/li /ul pbr/p pspan style="font-weight: bold;"span style="font-size: 16px;"Education Experience/span/spanspan style="font-size: 16px;":/span/p pspan style="font-size: 16px;"Two years of college education preferred and a minimum of three years related work experience; or any combination of training and experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities. Knowledge of treatment and recovery models in use with Alaska Native people, including traditional health/healing practices and culture-based services activities. Knowledge of risk behavior and issues.
