  • Emergency Department RN position at Central Carolina Hospital, a 137-bed acute care hospital and Joint Commission Accredited Primary Stroke Center.
  • Facility offers services including cardiology, ortho, ophthalmology, general surgery, OBGYN, ED, gastroenterology, hospitalist services, nephrology, hematology, urology, podiatry, pulmonary medicine, and wound care.
  • Position involves emergency nursing with responsibilities including trauma, resuscitation, IV drips, oxygen support, blood products, and basic telemetry/EKG.
  • Patient population includes all ages with common diagnoses such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac and neurological emergencies, and stroke.
  • Fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring a team player who can multi-task.
    Job Requirements
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI or MAB).
  • Must hold a Registered Nurse License in North Carolina.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency nursing specialty.
  • Preferred experience includes emergency medicine and psychiatric ER experience.
  • Education requirement: ADN.
    Schedule Information
  • Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM (night shift).
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 hours.
  • Weekend hours: every other weekend and some holidays.
  • No call requirements.
  • Float requirements as needed.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Emergency Department with 21 beds including telemetry and behavioral health beds.
  • Role: RN in Emergency Nursing specialty.
  • Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM.
  • Patient population includes all ages.
  • Common diagnoses treated include COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac and neurological emergencies, and stroke.
  • Required skills include emergency nursing, trauma, resuscitation, IV drips, oxygen support, blood products, and basic telemetry/EKG.
  • Preferred skills include emergency medicine and psychiatric ER experience.
    Additional Details
  • Unit has 21 beds: 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, 5 fast track rooms.
  • Patient ratio is 1:5.
  • Uses Cerner EHR system.
  • Supervisor: ED Nurse Manager.
  • Dress code: Any scrub color; no open-toed footwear, spandex pants, or sweatshirts.
