Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greeting customers, understanding their needs, and helping them find the right parts.
  • Sales: Selling parts to customers, processing transactions, and handling payments.
  • Inventory Management: Keeping track of stock levels, placing orders for new parts, and managing inventory records.
  • Order Processing: Entering customer orders, tracking backorders, and following up with customers on shipments.
  • Part Selection: Assisting customers in selecting the correct parts for their needs, often referencing catalogs or computer systems.
  • Basic Knowledge: Understanding automotive parts and systems to answer customer questions and provide recommendations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining records of sales, inventory, and customer orders.
  • Communication: Communicating effectively with customers, technicians, and other staff via phone, email, or in person.
  • Additional Duties: Depending on the specific role, they may also be responsible for tasks like answering phone calls, processing returns, and reviewing body shop estimates.

Requirements:

  • CDK: Knowledge in CDK system.
  • Experience as parts counterperson in a dealership.
  • Candidate must not live more than 30 min away from the dealership (approximately a 20 mile radius).

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • 21+ years or older
