Neurology Physician Assistant

Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery Physician Practice team here in Somerset KY.

• Inpatient only
• Responsible for primary neurosurgery call during shift
• Perform patient histories and physical exams
• Handles daily patient rounds, patient education and discharge summaries
• Provide preoperative preparation and postoperative clinical management services
• Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team
• Responsible for keeping medical records current and complete
• Analyze and interpret data, formulates problem lists and establishes plans for solutions to clinical problems
• Performs and or coordinates discharge planning including writing prescriptions, filling out individual medication sheets, arranging home health care, cardiac rehab and other services as indicated by patient needs
• Initiate communicate with referring physicians, consultants and patient families on the status of patients.
