pReports To: Food Service Director/p pbr /span style="text-decoration: underline;"strongSUMMARY/strong/span/p pbr /Works directly with the Kitchen Manager to prepare food in accordance with applicable federal, statebr /and district standards./p pbr /span style="text-decoration: underline;"strongESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/strong/span/p pnbsp;/p ul liCooks food, prepared and/or from scratch, for the purpose of meeting mandated nutritional and projected meal requirements./li liServes meals using correct portioning, meeting standards, ensuring that food is at the correct/li litemperature and meets quality standards./li liAssists with delivery and pickup of Breakfast in the Classroom and other food service programs./li liMaintains accurate daily production records for meals, snacks, and other programs in the area worked during service periods./li liCleans kitchen and dishes after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness./li liEnsures excess food is stored or discarded in accordance with safe food-handling procedures./li liMaintains facilities in a sanitary condition (e.g. equipment; food prep, serving, and storage areas; materials, etc.) for the purpose of complying with current health standards./li liOperates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed./li liReports equipment malfunctions to Kitchen Manager./li liMaintains refrigeration logs and sanitation records./li liEnsures all food items are stored and labeled according to required procedures./li liMaintains organized storage of dry goods, refrigerated items, and frozen goods./li liAssists in planning and preparing for catering events./li liPerforms other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effectivenbsp; functioning of the work unit./li /ul pbr /span style="text-decoration: underline;"strongQUALIFICATIONS/strong/span/p pbr /strongEducation and Experience:/strongnbsp;High school diploma or GED required./p pbr /strongInterpersonal Skills:/strongnbsp;Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and professional in an environment with frequent interruption.
