h2About the Department/h2pThis position performs technical maintenance work to the plant facility and equipment. nbsp;This position may also provide relief Plant Operator duties to assist with continued operation of the Plant.nbsp;brstrongThis position works night shift on a 12 hour rotating shift 7p-7a. Every other weekend off. Receives an additional $0.75/hour on top of base rate for night shift differential.nbsp;/strong/ph2Position Duties/h2p ol liInspects, troubleshoot and maintains assigned equipment. /li/olol liCompletes preventative maintenance on equipment, machines, and the plant. Monitors all activities for compliance with normal safety procedures. /li/olol liPerforms corrective maintenance/repairs as necessary due to mechanical failure, damage, etc. /li/olol liMaintains maintenance and service records and reports, including work orders and inspection reports. /li/olol liCommunicates with the Assistant Plant Manager and Maintenance Supervisor regarding current maintenance needs and scheduling. Interfaces with Plant Operator to coordinate activities. /li/olol liInforms Maintenance Supervisor of needed parts and/or supplies needed. /li/olol liKeep plants and maintenance areas clean and orderly. /li/olol liEnters activities in the appropriate log. Ensures maintenance procedures are properly logged. /li/olol liAssists with boiler cleaning activities. /li/olol liAssists the Maintenance Supervisor with other tasks and/or assist in any areas of the plant operations requiring additional assistance. /li/olol liOperates front end loaders and/or load ash truck as needed. /li/olol liEnsures all activities are carried out in a safe manner; adheres to all County safety regulations; assists co-workers in the safe handling of equipment; ensures equipment is safely operated and driving laws are obeyed; ensures all regulations pertaining to the safe use of equipment are understood and followed. /li/olol liReports all accidents to the appropriate authority. Follows all policies for reporting, investigating, and follow-up of equipment incidents, or personal injuries. /li/olol liOther duties as assigned. /li/ol/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2puMaintenance Mechanic I /u ul liHigh school diploma or equivalent. /liliMinimum of two (2) years of equipment mechanical experience. /liliComplete and pass pre-employment drug test/li/ul/ph2Other Qualifications/h2pul liAbility to perform work involved with pressurized equipment, rotating equipment, computer programs, pneumatics, valves, reading gauges, etc. /liliAbility to operate assigned tools/equipment skillfully and safely in close proximity to moving parts, debris, small/narrow spaces, etc. /liliKnowledge of boilers (safety procedures, proper shut down), chemicals (proper usage), electrical systems (110 volt switches, outlets, fixtures, etc), and plumbing (piping, valves, repair). /liliAbility to perform effective welding projects, if assigned. /liliKnowledge of operation and maintenance of assigned equipment including electrical energy, pneumatics, hydraulics and proper safety use. /li/ulul liAbility to effectively operate necessary tools in completing job tasks. /liliKnowledge of operation and maintenance of assigned equipment and machinery. /liliKnowledge of industry safety rules and ability to utilize Personal Protective Equipment. /liliAbility to maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with the public. /liliAbility to take control of situations in a responsible manner. /li/ulul liAbility to work as a member of a team and establish and maintain effective working relationships. /liliAbility to comprehend, retain and apply County, State, and Federal policies and legislation, i.e. local ordinances, procedure manuals, SDS sheets, safety manuals and warning labels. /liliAbility to maintain accurate and complete records and understand and carry out instructions received in writing or verbally. /liliAbility to maintain regular, reliable, prompt and predictable on-site job attendance. /liliAbility to work allocated hours which may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. /li/ulul liAbility to lawfully operate designated equipment/vehicles at all times duties are performed. /liliAbility to think quickly, maintain self-control, and adapt to stressful situations. /liliKnowledge of computer software including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications consistent for this position. /liliAbility to perform mathematical calculations required of this position. /liliAbility to perform detailed work accurately and independently in compliance with stringent time limits with minimal direction and supervision. /li/ulul liAbility to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions. /liliAbility to apply sound judgment and discretion in performing duties, resolving problems and interpreting policies and regulations. /liliAbility to communicate detailed and often sensitive information effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing. /liliAbility to handle sensitive interpersonal situations calmly and tactfully. /liliAbility to maintain effective working relationships with individuals within and outside the organization. /li/ulul liAbility to work the allocated hours of the position and respond after hours as needed. /li/ul/p
