ENL Perianesthesiap/pp/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:left"Compensation range:/p$57.13 - $77.13p style="text-align:left"spanYour rate of pay will be based on applicable experience/span/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pShift: PMs Shift length: 10 HoursbrDays off: Variable brHours per pay period: 80p/ppPOSITION SUMMARY:br /The Charge Nurse is a licensed professional who contributes their services to providing unit specific management leadership in the areas of first-point-of-contact supervision, direct patient care, patient and staff education, emotional support and education of families and the community in accordance with the mission and philosophy, standards policies, and practices of Enloe Medical Center. The Charge Nurse collaborates with the physician and interprets the medical plan to staff members.  They direct performance and supervise assigned staff members and assist the next level of management in directing care of the patient and support of the family.  The Charge Nurse supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Surgery Services Department.  /ppEDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:br /Minimum:br /One year of current RN experience in a Perianesthesia Care Unit/ppDesired:br /Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related fieldbr /Two years Critical Care experience or morebr /Perianesthesia relief charge nurse experience/ppLICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:br /Minimum:br /Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursingbr /Current CPR certificationbr /Current ACLS certificatebr /PALS within one year of employmentbr /Desired:br /Certified Peri-Anesthesia nurse (CPAN) and/or Certified Ambulatory Peri-Anesthesia (CAPA)/ppSKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:br /Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis.  Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients and the public. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.  Must have the ability to work in a demanding environment while remaining calm, efficient and focused. Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must have the ability and willingness to actively participate in continuing education programs, unit based QI task forces and actively participates in preceptor programs.
