County Road, 550 E., Avon, IN 46123/li listrongPosition: /strongMust be a licensed Qualified Medication Aide/li listrongShift: 11p-7a/strong/li listrongJob Type: Part Time /strong/li listrongBase Pay:/strong strong$20-21 / Hour/strong ul liIncentive for Insulin Certification/li /ul /li /ul pstrongBenefits:/strong/p ul listrong$2.00 Shift Differential for 3rd shift/strong/li li2 Free scrub tops/li liWages On-Demand � early access before pay day/li liFull benefits and PTO provided for Full Time employees/li liEmployee First, You Matter!/li /ul pstrongSupplemental Schedule:/strong/p ul liHoliday Pay/li liFlexible Scheduling/li /ul pstrongPosition Summary:/strong/p pAs a Medication Assistant you will assist residents in administering their daily medication./p pstrongRequired Experience for Medication Aide:/strong/p ul liHigh School Diploma or GED required./li liPrevious Healthcare, Geriatrics, Caregiving, or experience working with the elderly population preferred./li liAbility to adjust to many types of personalities and situations./li liMust have aptitude for dementia-related situations./li liRealization that incompetence and errors may have serious consequences for residents./li liMust have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as be willing to assist residents based on what cognitive level they are experiencing./li liMust be at least 18 years of age./li liMust have current CPR and First Aid certification./li liMust have CMA certification./li liMust have a TB clearance./li /ul p /p pstrongResponsibilities for Medication Aide:/strong/p ul liPrepare and administer medication and treatments as ordered by physician in accordance with policy and procedures./li liVerify identity of resident before administering medication or treatment./li liFollow hand-washing policy for medication passing, universal precautions and infection control./li liOrder mediations, supplies, and equipment as necessary in accordance with established policy./li liRemove expired or discontinued medications for cart and resident apartments as required in accordance with established procedure./li liEnsure medication records are accurate for your shift and keys are always accounted for./li liReview medication sheets for completeness and accuracy./li liReport all discrepancies noted concerning physician�s orders, medication count or any other unusual situations and complaints regarding resident services and care to your immediate supervisor./li liChart and perform documentation duties are required in accordance with community policy and procedures./li liAssist in admit, transfer and discharge of residents as requested./li liReview charts for specific treatment, medication, diet orders, etc. as needed./li liNotify nurse in charge of changes in resident condition, (including medication and treatment refusal)./li liMake sure work areas (medication and treatment cart, medication room, nurse�s station, etc.) are maintained in a clean, sanitary manner./li liAlways show courtesy, respect and positive attitude to residents, family�s visitors and associates./li liReport accidents and incidents observed on the shift they occurred. Report suspected abuse immediately./li liDocument important events in the 24-hour report./li liAssist with activities of daily living./li liEncourage the Social development of each resident./li liAssist with light housekeeping including emptying the trash and changing linens./li liEscort residents to and from dining areas for meals; assist with tasks related to dining as needed./li liPerform any duties delegated by supervisor in order to maintain the self-respect, personal dignity and physical safety of each resident while adhering to the standards of Residents Rights and all applicable state, Federal and local licensing requirements and regulations./li /ul pstrongemConnecting Seniors, Families and Communities/em/strong/p pNot Just Making Every Day Great.
