pstrong*Must have a KY Teaching Certificate/strong/p pnbsp;/p pstrongCLASS TITLE:nbsp; TUTOR/strong/p pstrongnbsp;/strong/p pstrongBASIC FUNCTION:nbsp; /strong/p pstrongnbsp;/strong/p pnbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Assist in the implementation of education programs by providing academic tutoring to students./p pnbsp;/p pstrongREPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:/strong/p pstrongnbsp;/strong/p ul liProvide appropriate learning materials and experience for participants./li liAssist students in small group or one-on-one sessions to enhance their education and provide support in achieving learning objectives set by the school./li liAssess the studentsrsquo; progress throughout tutoring sessions and adjust instructional methods and content focus as necessary./li liProvide adult supports, activities, and sessions./li liParticipate in tutor training and development sessions./li liMaintain accurate records and provide data to appropriate personnel./li liTreat all individuals with fairness, dignity, and respect./li liAdhere to SBDM and McCracken County Public School Board policies and procedures./li liPerform related duties as assigned./li liMaintain regular and predictable attendance./li liMaintain a professional and appropriate appearance./li liAdhere to the Professional Code of Ethics./li /ul pstrongnbsp;/strong/p pstrongKNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:/strong/p pstrongnbsp;/strong/p pstrongKNOWLEDGE OF:/strong/p ul liBasic instructional methods and techniques./li liBasic learning theory applicable to the student group served./li liStudents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds./li liBasic subjects taught in District schools including arithmetic, reading, writing, grammar, and spelling./li liCorrect English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary./li liClassroom procedures and appropriate student conduct./li liPolicies and objectives of assigned program and activities./li liApplicable sections of Kentucky Administrative Regulations and other applicable laws./li liHealth and safety regulations./li /ul pnbsp;/p pstrongABILITY TO:/strong/p ul liProvide instruction working with children with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds./li liMonitor and evaluate student progress./li liCommunicate effectively both orally and in writing./li /ul pstrongABILITY TO (CONTINUED):/strong/p pnbsp;/p ul liMaintain routine records./li liRead, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures./li liMaintain current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions./li liAnalyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action./li liPlan and organize work./li /ul pstrongnbsp;/strong/p pstrongEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:/strong/p pCertified:nbsp; Valid Kentucky teaching certificate/p pnbsp;/p
