Learn more about the benefits of joining Team UES and our core values at careers.teamues.com./span/em/pp style="margin: 0px;" /pp style="margin: 0px;"We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Coertified Welding Inspector to conduct on-site inspections, verify quality control, and ensure compliance with engineering specifications, regulatory standards, and project requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring construction activities, performing field tests, and documenting observations to ensure that materials and workmanship meet project plans and industry standards./pp style="margin: 0px;"The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction inspection, with working knowledge of construction field layout, plan interpretation, quantity verification, material testing, and engineering computations. You will work closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to help identify and resolve construction issues, promote safety compliance, and support successful project delivery./p
Responsibilities:
ulliPerform detailed on-site inspections to ensure compliance with approved engineering plans, specifications, and safety regulations./liliVerify structural components, including soil compaction, foundation construction, concrete placement, asphalt paving, and other key construction elements, ensuring they meet design and engineering standards./liliMaintain comprehensive inspection reports, including daily logs, photographs, test results, field notes, and project documentation to track progress, site conditions, and any encountered issues./liliCoordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure construction activities align with engineering plans, schedules, and regulatory compliance./liliParticipate in project meetings and site walkthroughs, discussing progress, challenges, and compliance-related issues with stakeholders./liliAssist in preparing final project closeout documentation, ensuring all required inspections and quality checks are completed./liliEnsure strict adherence to company safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements, promoting a culture of workplace safety and compliance./liliPerform other duties as assigned./li/ul
Qualifications:
ulliMust be a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) by the American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)./liliMinimum 2+ years of construction inspection experience in infrastructure, transportation, geotechnical, or environmental projects (civil engineering degree holders with FE/EIT certification encouraged to apply)./liliExperience in infrastructure construction is highly valued./liliProficiency in interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications with the ability to analyze and apply engineering principles./liliFamiliarity with inspection and reporting software tools./liliWorking knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality control procedures to ensure adherence to design and industry standards./liliStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders./liliAbility to work independently and collaboratively in both field and office environments, adapting to changing project demands./liliValid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; ability to travel to job sites as needed./liliFlexibility to travel within the designated region as needed to support inspections, compliance efforts, and business operations is a must./li/ul
Pay Range:
USD $32.00 - USD $40.00 /Hr.
Physical Demands Work Environment:
p style="margin: 0px;"This position primarily works in an outdoor work environment, regularly exposed to varying field conditions, including:/pp style="margin: 0px;"• Sites that may not be accessible by vehicle, requiring travel on foot through wetlands, swamps, grasslands, fields, and other uneven or rugged terrain with natural and man-made obstacles such as sand, brush, and debris.br /• Moderate to loud noise levels, common in active construction and industrial environments.br /• Exposure to environmental elements including dirt, dust, sun, heat, humidity, and adverse weather conditions./pp style="margin: 0px;" /pp style="margin: 0px;"The physical requirements for this position may include and are not limited to:/pp style="margin: 0px;"• Ability to lift and/or carry 35 to 75 lbs. up to 75 feet, involving regular repetitive motion.br /• Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods.br /• Frequent use of hands and arms for typing, handling tools, and operating equipment.br /• Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, and push as required for fieldwork and inspections.br /• Ability to speak and hear effectively to communicate in noisy environments and with project teams.br /• Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant, and peripheral vison, depth vision, and ability to focus) smell, hear, touch (use hands to reach climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit)./p
