The technician inspects, tests, installs, fabricates, modifies, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide range of piping systems and associated equipment./pp/ppbPiping systems and equipment include, but are not limited to:/b/pulliBoilers/liliCompressed gas systems/liliSteam and condensate systems/liliAir compressors/liliLaboratory and industrial kitchen equipment/liliSteam stations/liliHeat exchangers/liliCondenser water systems/liliCondensate systems/liliChilled water systems/liliHeating hot water systems/liliAssist other trades as needed to support cross-functional maintenance efforts./liliAdhere to all safety practices and procedures./liliClean and maintain work areas and equipment to ensure a safe and organized environment./liliAttend meetings and complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner./liliProvide a high level of customer service in all interactions./liliCommunicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors using written, electronic, and verbal methods and devices./liliOperate departmental vehicles as required./liliPerform other duties as assigned./li/ulp/ppThe technician also responds to emergency situations, evaluates issues, and implements corrective actions as needed./pp/ppbMinimum Qualifications:/b/pulliHigh school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience./liliTwo years of experience in maintenance, pipefitting, and/or welding trades, including work with related equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience./liliProficient in the use of pipefitting and welding tools and equipment./liliBasic understanding of plumbing code compliance./liliKnowledge of piping components, including types of valves, fittings, and piping materials./liliFamiliarity with university Building Design Standards (BDS) related to the maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment./liliBasic understanding of the project process as managed by FOD Design and Construction./liliValid Drives License/li/ulp/ppbDesired Qualifications:/b/pulliAssociate degree, technical degree, or vocational certificate in a skilled trade or maintenance-related field./liliPossession of a boiler operator’s license (e.g., low pressure or high pressure)./liliValid OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health certification./li/ulp/ppbPay Range and Hours:/b/ppThe Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $28.70 - $35.88 per hour./ppThe position works Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:30 pm.
