Caulker / Pointer Cleaner / Water Proofer

Caulker, Pointer, and Cleaner (PCC) is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity and appearance of masonry structures by performing a variety of tasks, including caulking, sealing, cleaning, and minor repairs. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety practices.

III. Key Responsibilities:

• Caulking and Sealing:

  • Prepare and apply caulking and sealing compounds to joints, cracks, and crevices in masonry structures.
  • Use various tools and techniques, including hand-held caulking guns and power tools, to ensure a professional finish.

• Pointer and Cleaning:

  • Remove old mortar and debris from joints and surfaces using appropriate tools.
  • Apply new mortar or cement to joints and surfaces, ensuring proper alignment and a clean appearance.
  • Clean masonry surfaces, including brick, stone, and terra cotta, using water, mild chemicals, or specialized cleaning equipment.

• Waterproofing and Repairs:

  • Assist in the application of waterproofing membranes and sealants to protect structures from moisture damage.
  • Perform minor repairs to masonry, including patching and patching broken or damaged pieces.

• Safety and Maintenance:

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly dispose of waste materials.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to established work procedures.

IV. Qualifications:

• Experience:

  Experience in masonry work, including caulking, pointing, and cleaning, is required.

• Skills:

  Ability to work at heights, use tools and equipment, and follow safety protocols.

• Physical Requirements:

  Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry materials, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
