Walter E. Smithe is growing, and we are adding designers to our team. Our designers have the unique joy of bringing design and happiness to their clients. As a Smithe designer, you will work in a beautiful and supportive retail showroom where you will work closely with residential clients to design rooms that inspire and delight.

While our most successful designers come from a variety of backgrounds, the following requirements are must haves for consideration:

Requirements:

• 5+ years professional experience in either luxury retail sales, business to business sales, design, or a related field. A career changer with a track record for longevity and success in your industry.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• A natural ability to engage and connect with other people, develop, and maintain professional relationships.
• The drive to lead a sales process and achieve sales goals.
• Highly motivated by the earning potential of commission.
• Shows passion and proven knowledge of interior design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to seek solutions from a client perspective.
• The ability to manage multiple projects at once.
• Comfort and ease with learning new technology to drive business and meet client needs.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
• Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
• The ability to move through a showroom at a pace that satisfies the needs of our clients.
