Job Description
- Operate and drive different types of trucks, including tanker trucks, roll-off trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely delivery of goods while adhering to traffic laws
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and fuel usage
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- 2 years of previous experience
- Must be 21 years of age
- Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical and 7-year background check; which will include previous employment check, criminal history and motor vehicle review
- Must be able to verify and maintain accurate daily records
- Be able to lift up to 65 lbs. and push/pull 200 lb. recycling containers
- Extensively use hands and fingers to manage or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to sit, walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, speak and hear. Regular sitting on a powered industrial truck
- Frequently lift to fifty pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for extended periods of time
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Having a good sense of balance
- Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
