Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting daily operations by safely and efficiently handling plated and unplated parts. This position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, assisting with shipping tasks, transporting parts between departments, loading ovens, and moving finished products to inspection.
Key Responsibilities
Load and unload trucks with incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
Move parts from plating lines to designated locations, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage or contamination.
Transport plated parts to ovens and operate baking equipment according to process specifications and safety procedures.
Relocate parts to inspection and quality control areas in a timely and organized manner.
Assist with packaging and shipping finished product, ensuring all documentation, labeling, and packing standards are met.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including carts, and shipping dock.
Accurately complete required documentation and labeling for parts and materials.
Work collaboratively with plating, inspection, and shipping teams to maintain production flow.
Follow all company safety policies, including the proper use of PPE and safe material handling techniques.
Report any noticed damaged or defective parts immediately.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal finishing environment preferred.
Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks (certification a plus).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic knowledge of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
Dependable with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Knowledge of different metal materials and their characteristics.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects to 50lbs.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- A basic knowledge of chemistry is preferred but not required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and compliance auditors.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of practical problems. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
