PRN Position
Work days: Monday through Friday
Department Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Position includes an average 1-2 days/week depending on case load and rotating call weekend
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at HCH. As a PRN PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality care to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the implementation of treatment plans, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities. You will also be responsible for documenting patient progress and communicating with the supervising Physical Therapist. PTA's work with patients in the Outpatient and Inpatient settings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state license or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- BLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an outpatient and inpatient setting
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Experience with Medicare documentation requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to patients
- Document patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist in the education of patients and their families on proper home exercise programs
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment
Skills:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will utilize your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology to assist in the implementation of treatment plans. You will also use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and their families. In addition, you will need to be proficient in the use of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities. Experience with electronic medical records and Medicare documentation requirements is preferred. Finally, you will need to be able to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with the supervising Physical Therapist and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care to our patients.
