On-call and Holiday rotationp/pp/ppCollects clinical laboratory specimens and performs tasks associated with patient registration, order entry and specimen processing with general supervision. Performs waived testing with general supervision. Provides logistical support to team members and general assistance to customers. Excessive travel required in various weather conditions to nursing homes and home draws./pp/pp/ppbESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES /binclude the following. Other duties may be spanassigned./span/pp/pp/pulliPerforms venipunctures at HNL clients and home draw locations. Collects other specimens and explains the proper collection procedures for specimens provided by the patient. Clarifies orders and pre-analytical test requirements when spanappropriate./span/liliExcessive travel required in various weather conditions to nursing homes and home draws./liliPerforms registration; requisitions lab orders and verifies billing spaninformation./span/liliMakes accurate, initial assessment of specimen suitability according to criteria outlined in the laboratory handbook and department standard operating procedures (SOPs)./liliTravels to various locations (nursing homes, home draw sites, etc.) to perform specimen collection./liliProcesses, stores and transports specimens according to the laboratory handbook and SOPs./liliResponds to customer inquiries for information regarding specimen requirements and testing schedules./liliMaintains up-to-date knowledge of changes in specimen requirements and collection devices./liliMaintains an adequate inventory of supplies and ensures a meticulous work spanarea./span/liliProvides on-call and mobile services as spanrequired./span/liliAssists in the orientation and training of new staff spanmembers./span/liliReports collection statistics, patient wait times and patient satisfaction surveys as spanrequired./span/liliParticipates in the Continuous Service Improvement and continuing education spanprograms./span/liliProperly records and documents necessary expense reimbursement (Mileage Reimbursement) following established electronic processes./li/ulp/pp/ph1spanQUALIFICATIONS:/span/h1pTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently may be required based on service location./pp/pp/ppuMath spanAbility:/span/u/ppAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
