pPosition Summary: nbsp;The Foreman is a skilled position in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems.nbsp; This position works at various locations and may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands./p pnbsp;/p pstrongEssential Functions:/strong/p ul liWork safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work./li liAble to coach crew members./li liPossesses working knowledge of coaching skills./li liMust be capable of coaching and training lower skilled employees in safe and productive work procedures.nbsp;/li liMust be capable of leading and teaching hot stick work on energized lines./li liConducts pre-job or tailgate briefings./li liPossesses a working knowledge of all aspects of line work./li liStringing overhead wire./li liSetting poles and anchors./li liInstalling transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear./li liTroubleshoots problems and supervises troubleshooting in primary and secondary systems./li liReplaces cutout fuses and clears faulted circuits and systems./li liFrequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others./li liMaintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order./li liAble to perform rigorous physical labor./li liMust be able to identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit./li liMust be familiar with induced voltage./li liAble to properly sag wire./li liMust be capable of properly phasing a circuit through a substation./li liMust be able to identify and locate puller and tensioner setups./li liMust understand grounding procedures./li liCapable of working at heights and/or confined spaces./li liCapable of properly installing and removing PPE and cover up./li liMust be able to climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.) and possess the necessary tools to do so./li liMust understand how to safely operate equipment./li liMust understand how to phase out a line using phasing sticks./li liCapable of planning safe work based on a job print or work order./li liUnderstands how to obtain a one shot on a recloser./li liMust be able to safely perform a reconductoring job./li liWillingness to glove/work live high voltage distribution power lines./li liCapable of safely installing and removing mechanical jumpers./li liUnderstands how to use a load bust tool./li liAble to properly ask for and take line clearances./li liAble to identify and locate puller and tensioner setups./li liPossesses a working knowledge of line protection devices./li liUnderstands flag and tag procedures./li liMust be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather./li liDoes all other related work as required to complete the job./li /ul pstrongMinimum Requirements:/strong/p ul li5-year minimum of recent field experience./li liAble to read and communicate effectively in English./li liCoordinates and inspects the work of crew members./li liAble to travel long distances on short notice, when required./li liAble to work for extended periods in various locations, when required./li liAble to lift up to 50 lbs./li liAble to properly inspect rubber goods and PPE./li liComply with company reporting procedures and complete required company paperwork./li liPossesses a CDL and demonstrates safe driving./li liWilling to work over-time when requested./li liWilling to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position./li /ul pstrongPhysical Demands:/strong/p pThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job./p pWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
