Maintain confidentiality of student, staff and department information within the school and community.br nbsp;br strongJob Duties / Responsibilities/strong ulliImplement individual or small group instructional lessons under the supervision of a certified teacher./li liFamiliarize self with IEP goals/objectives for students in the classroom./li liFacilitate implementation of functional community-based curriculum./li liFollow through on set behavioral programs and procedures./li liDocument student behavior as directed by the teacher./li liSupervise IEP’d students during lunch, recess, arrival and departure times, and/or community trips during assigned work hours as needed./li liHelp in the loading and unloading of student buses at school and on trips during assigned work hours as needed./li liEscort students within the building, as directed by the classroom teacher.nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;/li liWork cooperatively with the classroom teacher by assisting with any related activity specific to the students’ IEP./li liCollaborate with the teacher, prepare and maintain materials./li liLift, transfer, position, toilet, etc. (this is special skills only)./li liProvide input to the classroom teacher regarding student-para interactions./li liAttend staff meetings and staff development activities as assigned./li liOther duties as assigned./li /ul nbsp;br strongEducation/strong ulliPara Educator, Substitute, Professional Educator or Provisional Educator License required./li liMinimum education requirement for a Para Educator License is completion of at least 60 semester hours of college course work or a passing score on the ETS Para Pro exam or two specific Work Keys exams./li liBilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred. Certain assignments require Bilingual – Spanish/English./li /ul nbsp;br strongExperience / Knowledge/strong ulliEffective communication skills./li liExperience working with students in an educational setting preferred./li /ul nbsp;br strongPhysical Demands/strong ulliLift, transfer, position, toileting etc. (for special skills positions only)/li liExcellent physical agility and quick response time./li liAbility to lift up to 50 pounds./li /ul br strongnbsp;Term of Employmentnbsp;/strong ulliThis is a 10-month position.
