P/bbay range of $26.78-$28.82, with an additional $1.50 per hour when working the 3rd shift. /bYou will perform a variety of tank car repairs according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches.  You will utilize various equipment and technology including air arc cutting torches and stick or wire welding, grinding tools, I Pads, etc. /divdiv/divdivubPrimary Job Functions/b/ubr /This is not an exhaustive list and employees in these classifications frequently may be required to perform additional duties. Not all classifications will be required to perform all job functions./divulliWelds components related to tank cars including tanks, bolsters, underframes, side sills, etc./liliPerforms welded repairs by utilizing air arc cutting torch and stick or wire welding equipment./liliUses hand tools and equipment to chip and grind weld, slag or spatter./liliRepairs, straightens, removes, reworks car parts, brakes, underframes, center plates, gears, couplers, valves, etc. using various hand and power tools./liliPerforms welding and mechanical repairs to tank and hopper cars when required./liliMaintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards./li/uldivubKnowledge and Skills Required/b/u/divulliWelding experience or education isspan /spanbrequired/b./liliMust pass the applicable welding test, as prescribed by the company./liliMust possess a High School Diploma/GEDspan; or have the ability to successfully complete an on-site basic skills assessment./span/liliMust possess job-related knowledge; for example, ability to follow work instructions on a document, ability to read a ruler and tape measure, ability to use hand tools./liliMust be dependable and maintain good attendance; must have reliable transportation; must be able to work scheduled work shifts including overtime./liliMust be able to successfully complete pre-employment drug amp; alcohol testing, position-specific examinations, background screening, and education verifications./li/uldivbuEnvironmental and Working Conditions/u/b/divulliMust be able to enter and work in confined spaces./liliMust be able to work from heights equivalent to the top of tank/railcars./liliModerate to heavy physical effort involved. Lifts and carries necessary equipment to car to perform operation.
