pPerforms basic and routine maintenance duties on tribal buildings, grounds, and facilities to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. Honors and represents the mission, vision, values of CIT and the Public Works department./p

pstrongEssential Duties Responsibilities:/strong/p
ul
liCoordinates with fire marshal to complete annual elevator, alarm, and fire system testing./li
liPerforms monthly inspections of buildings, lights, fire extinguishers, and defibrillators. /li
liMaintains appropriate records on equipment, warranties, inspections, and work performed./li
liProvides setup and teardown of meeting and conference rooms. /li
liAssists with minor maintenance of facilities including replacement of light fixtures, painting, and repair of plumbing fixtures./li
liMaintains parking areas and grounds, including plant care, litter control, de-icing, and snow removal./li
liMows and weeds all lawns; prunes trees./li
liMaintains and repairs irrigation system./li
liCleans gutters and pressure washes windows./li
liLoads and unloads materials needed for work./li
liEnsures proper care in the use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies./li
liMoves equipment, materials, and furnishings as needed./li
liProvides guidance and training to custodial staff. /li
liInventories and requests equipment and supplies; updates MSDS book./li
liCommunicates with on-site contractors. /li
liAssists with work orders and construction projects, including build out, sanding, mudding, and painting./li
liSanitizes building common areas multiple times each day; performs biohazard waste cleanup./li
liPerforms general custodial and trash removal tasks as needed./li
liAdheres to safety procedures and utilizes safety apparel as appropriate./li
liMaintains confidential information./li
liContributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required./li
liPerforms other duties as assigned./li

pstrongKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:/strong/p

liKnowledge of safe operation of tools, power tools, and grounds keeping equipment./li
liKnowledge of grounds keeping, maintenance, and repairs./li
liKnowledge of use of maintenance tools, chemicals, cleaners, and disinfectants./li
liKnowledge of the methods and practices used in preventive maintenance and repair work./li
liKnowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices./li
liKnowledge of OSHA requirements./li
liSkill in the use of cleaning tools, chemicals, cleaners, and disinfectants./li
liAbility to learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings, grounds, and equipment./li
liAbility to work flexible hours including occasional weekends./li
liAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing./li
liAbility to follow verbal or written instructions./li
liAbility to use hand tools and electrical tools./li
liAbility to prioritize and accomplish tasks within strict deadlines./li
liAbility to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds./li

pstrongMinimum Qualifications:/strong/p

liHigh School Diploma/GED./li
liMust be 18 years of age./li
liTwo years� experience in maintenance or custodial work, or related experience./li
liValid driver�s license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes. /li
liMust be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below./li

pstrongTribal preference in accordance with Cowlitz Indian Tribe Code and CIT Employee Policies and Procedures Handbook shall apply to all positions. All positions are required to adhere to CIT�s established safety policies regarding vaccine requirements and personal protective equipment (PPE)./strong/p

pWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk, hear, stoop, bend, kneel, and climb. Normal visual acuity is required by this job. The employee frequently will lift and/or carry objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. /p

pstrongWork Environment:/strong/p
pWork is generally performed in an interior setting and in an outdoor environment. Exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, and cleaning agents will occur. Exposure to unpleasant odors, bodily fluids, infectious disease, or hazardous material will occur. Work is frequently performed near hazardous and/or moving equipment or machinery. Situations will occur where protective clothing, equipment, devices, and materials are needed. Noise level is usually moderate to excessive. Evening and/or weekend work may be required./p
