In order to ensure appropriate reimbursement for/spanbr /spanservices rendered, primary duties include:/span/pp style="margin: 0px;" /pp style="margin: 0px;"spana) Appropriate patient identification /span/pp style="margin: 0px;"spanb) Collecting accurate and thorough /spanspanpatient demographic data /span/pp style="margin: 0px;"spanc) Obtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility and benefits /span/pp style="margin: 0px;"spand) Determining and collecting patient financial liability /span/pp style="margin: 0px;"spane) Referring patients to the Patient Registration Specialist as needed for assistance with financial counseling and/or clearance /span/pp style="margin: 0px;" /pp style="margin: 0px;"spanThe Patient Registration Representative adheres to the organization's policies and procedures for resolution of patient financial liability. Additionally, the Patient Registration Representative is an information source for patients and families by explaining hospital policies, patient financial responsibilities and Patient Rights and Responsibilities. /span/pp style="margin: 0px;" /p Qualifications: p style="margin: 0px;"spanstrongMinimum:/strong/span/pullidivspanMinimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare/spanbr /spaninsurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles. 2 years preferred./span/div/lilispanApplicable education and/or training can be used to balance a lack of experience. High School diploma, GED or equivalent/span/lilispanThorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures. Working knowledge of medical terminology./span/lilispanAble to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation. Intermediate to advanced computer skills./span/li/ulp style="margin: 0px;"spanstrongPreferred:/strong/span/pullispanKnowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs preferred./span/li/ul
