Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician

Coverage Needed :

• July 28, 2025 - ongoing
• Specific dates needed:
  • July 28, 8 AM - August 1, 5 PM
  • September 1, 8 AM - September 5, 5 PM
  • December 22, 8 AM - December 26, 5 PM

Clinical Details :

• Trauma Level: 3
• Patient Demographic: 100% Adult
• Consults: Average 3-5 per day
• Inpatient Rounds: 2-5 per day
• Procedures: 10-20 per month/150-200 per year
• Support Staff: NP assists with morning rounds, post-op patients, and hospital calls during office hours
  • Full hospital surgical support staff
• Mix of rounding, inpatient, and clinic duties
• Outpatient care, call duties, and emergency surgeries
• Required Procedures: Cardiac (open heart), thoracic (chest surgery)
• Preferred Procedures: Vascular surgeries, Open Heart Surgeries, TAVR, Endarterectomies, Thoracotomies, Valve Replacement/Repairs, Chest tube placement
• EMR: CERNER, EPIC

Requirements :

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible (under 2 years) in Cardiothoracic or Cardiovascular Surgery
• BLS certification required
• Active Iowa License highly preferred
  • or IMLC LOQ in hand required
• Preferred clean and easy-to-credential candidates
• Local candidates within driving distance preferred
