Job Type: Travel (radius rule 75 miles)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a high-acuity acute care team. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience, be comfortable managing ventilated patients, interpreting ABGs, and performing advanced airway management including intubations. This role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a high patient volume.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory treatments including nebulizer therapy, airway clearance, Vapotherm, CPAP, and BiPAP management.
• Assess, monitor, and manage mechanically ventilated patients in critical care settings.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection, interpretation, and reporting of critical values.
• Assist with airway management procedures, including endotracheal intubation.
• Manage ventilators, heated aerosol trachs, and other respiratory support devices.
• Participate in emergency response and code situations.
• Conduct bedside pulmonary function testing (PFTs) and chest physiotherapy (CPT).
• Collaborate with physicians, intensivists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide respiratory care to adult and pediatric patients as assigned.
• Maintain accurate documentation using MEDITECH EMR.

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Active Georgia Respiratory Care License required.
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required.
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required.
• Experience in a 300+ bed acute care facility required.
• Strong Critical Care and Adult ICU experience required.
• Must be comfortable with ventilator management and airway procedures, including intubation.
• Experience with ABG interpretation and critical care patient management required.

Required Certifications

• Active GA State RRT License
• AHA - BLS,ACLS,and PALS
• NBRC certificate
• NRP (required only for NICU assignments)
