Auto General Service Technician

pspanstronguPosition Summary/u/strong/span/p pspanThe General Service Technician must have a mechanical aptitude and is able to perform basic automotive services including mounting and balancing tires, tire repairs, oil changes, vehicle inspections and other less technical services while delivering an excellent customer experience. Responsible also to maintain clean and safe work areas in the tire and service department. The General Service Technician may be required to provide advice to and sell customers on automotive services and repairs that are recommended or required for their vehicle./span/p p /p pspanstronguDuties amp; Responsibilities /u/strong/span/p ul lispanLearn how to diagnose and repair basic automotive including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical/span/li lispanContinuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology/span/li lispanChange engine oil and filter/span/li lispanInstall and perform tire maintenance/span/li lispanInstall batteries and check starting / charging systems/span/li lispanInstall headlights and other small bulbs/span/li lispanRepair flat tires/span/li lispanInstall wiper blades/span/li lispanStock and unload tires/span/li lispanAssist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities/span/li lispanKeep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur/span/li lispanClean and maintain an organized and neat shop/span/li lispanAdhere to all company policy, procedure, safety and environmental rules/span/li /ul p /p pspanstronguKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities/u/strong/span/p ul lispanA valid driver's license/span/li lispanPassion for career as a Technician in the automotive industry/span/li lispanEager to learn and competitive drive to succeed /span/li lispanMust be at least 18 years of age/span/li lispanHigh School Diploma or GED/span/li lispanAvailability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed/span/li lispanSuccessful completion of pre-employment background check/span/li /ul pspanstrongbr /uPhysical Demands/Work Environment/u/strong/span/p pspanThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
