These duties will be performed while practicing the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility./p p dir="ltr"strongThis position will be assigned to a school site in Hoover, Homewood, or Trussville. The hours are Monday-Friday from 12pm-6pm./strong/p p dir="ltr"strongEssential Functions:/strong/p ol li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Assist in planning, administering, and evaluating the entire afterschool program at the assigned site. /p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Assist in staff training, lead monthly meetings, and complete evaluations./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Support youth development administration in the planning, supervising, and implementing curriculum requirements./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Participate in and lead programs and respond to parent concerns to maintain positive relationships and communication with students, parents, and other staff members./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Be on site all day, each day of the program./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"May be in charge of a group of students when the need arises./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Responsible for the daily supervision of all counselors and volunteers./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Responsible for following and maintaining childcare policies and practices set by the association./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Maintains proper counselor-to-child ratio to ensure safety and sound fiscal management./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Ensure fidelity and quality standards are being met in the program as they relate to the school partnership agreement and YMCA programming standards, if applicable./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Schedule and develop parent nights./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Manage and maintain inventory of program equipment and supplies./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Attends all staff meetings and required training programs./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Serve as liaison to the school administration at assigned school, if applicable./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor./p /li /ol p dir="ltr"strongSupervisors and administrators will: /strong/p ol li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Follow employees' and volunteers' screening requirements and use screening instruments to screen for abuse risk. /p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Provide employees and volunteers with ongoing supervision and training related to abuse risk. /p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Provide employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with children and teens. /p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Require employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse risk. /p /li /ol /divh4Qualifications/h4brdiv p dir="ltr"strongMinimum Requirements:/strong/p ol li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Bachelor's degree in education or other relevant field preferred. High School diploma required./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"1-3 Prior experience in education, recreation, physical education, teaching or childcare preferred./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Minimum age of 21 years old./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Prior experience in staff supervision, program and fiscal management/p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Successful completion of background and Child Abuse and Neglect screening./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Must be customer service focused with strong communication skills both orally and written with solid computer skills./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Acquire and maintain the following certifications prior to start date via YMCA, American Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI):/p ol li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"1st Aid/ CPR /AED (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)/p /li /ol /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Requisite Risk Management/Safety Online Training Modules (completed prior to start date and repeated annually)./p /li /ol p dir="ltr"strongPhysical Demands:/strong/p ol li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Ability to be physically active to include, but not limited to walking, sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, climbing, running, lifting, pushing, pulling, etc./p /li li dir="ltr" p dir="ltr"Must have the physical, visual and auditory ability to perform the essential functions/p /li /ol /div
