One California /a/p Responsibilities: p style="margin: 0px;"Provides laboratory testing to inpatients and outpatients, quality control, and instrument maintenance and related record keeping and result reporting. May be assigned to or rotate to various areas such as: Microbiology, Chemistry/Special Chemistry, Transfusion Services, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis and Immunology. Patients served are neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adults, and geriatric age groups./pulliPerforms a variety of chemical, hematologic, microscopic, bacteriologic, and immunologic tests and procedures accurately and in a timely manner./liliPerforms tests and procedures based on area, being aware of differences and making adjustments to testing procedures due to the patient's age, body chemistry, sex or disorder that may cause differences in normal range results. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide services of high complexity based on the age of the patient served. Demonstrates the  understanding of growth and development over the life span and possesses the technical ability to produce test results and compare those results to the reference ranges established for that age group./liliPerforms STAT and ASAP testing within the established turnaround times./liliMaintains a good working knowledge of the laboratory computer system including entering of patient demographics, specimen order entry, result collation, result certification, result inquiry, and report distribution. Must be able to amend results, document results called to other health care providers, print work documents, print and reconcile incomplete worksheets, and perform minor troubleshooting./liliMust also be able to shut down or start up the various LIS workstations using established procedures./li/ul Qualifications: p style="margin: 0px;"strongMinimum Requirements:/strong/pulliMust possess and maintain a current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license with the state of California./liliComputer literate/li/ulp style="margin: 0px;"strongPreferred/Desired:/strong/pulliOne year of experience in an acute care facility. /li/ul
