Summary
This key leadership role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The Family Services Director will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Pittsburgh House, including registration of guests, facility conditions, ensure the well-being of the guests, and coordinate the supervision of the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, Housekeeping, Guest Relations staff, which contribute to the established goals and operations of the RMHC.
Essential Duties and Functions:
Responsible for overall guest experience, including directing administrative aspects of registration of guests, lodging funds; petty cash; guest and third-party payor lodging collection;
- Oversight for documenting in-kind donations and facilitate acknowledgment correspondence.
- Management of facility including housekeeping; utilities; signage and announcements; house repairs, and emergency preparedness.
- Responsible for house maintenance and safety rounds for guest apartments.
- Responsible for facilitating family programing.
- Supervises volunteer and outreach coordinator, housekeeping and guest relations team members.
- Responsible for preparing monthly schedules for guest relations and housekeeping team members, as well as time sheet review and approval.
- Oversight of ordering and maintaining house supplies.
- Oversight of inquiries and management of house volunteer services including house duties, dinners and internal events.
- Provide support to patients, families and guests as necessary to full fill the mission of RMHC.
- Complete special assignments and/or projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of hospitality service experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work and/or business management preferred (or an equivalent combination of education and experience);
- Excellent written and verbal communication, research and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills including contact management database experience
- Interest, enthusiasm and affinity for non-profit organizations and working with people
Requirements
- Background clearance: this position requires lifting up to 40 lbs with frequent lifting/carrying of up to 10 lbs. The position also requires walking, standing and sitting.
