Dental Assistant

Salary: $16/hr - $25/hr depending on certifications and years of experience

Scope-Purpose

Adental assistantin the state of Missouri may perform basic supportive dental procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist.

Education/Experience

Dental Assistant Certificate from an accredited school or 2 years dental assisting experience is required.

Nitrous Oxide certificate preferred.

Expanded Functions certificates preferred.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

• 
  Receive and prepare patients and operatories for dental treatment.
• 
  Take digital x-rays.
• 
  Using four-handed dentistry, assist with dental procedures, complete charting electronically, provide patient preventive education and oral hygiene instruction.
• 
  Follow current infection control protocols for disinfection and sterilization of rooms, instruments and equipment.
• 
  Recognize basic medical and dental emergencies.
• 
  Display good customer service, communication and office teamwork.

Work hours: part-time hourly position, approximately 10 - 20 hours per week Clinic Hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday, however the current need is for Fridays (and occasionally fill-in on other weekdays). Hours subject to adjust based on needs of the community. This position may be scheduled to work any of the days the clinic is open (Monday through Friday)
