Job Description:

PAY RATE: $18-20/hr PLUS benefits PLUS annual bonus!

SCHEDULE: Full-Time Monday-Friday 8a-5p

Must be a Bilingual English/Spanish and must have a Medical Assistant certification through one of the organizations listed in the Qualifications section. You will not be considered if you do not have a Medical Assistant certification in addition to your Medical Assistant diploma. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for drawing blood, obtaining patient records and test results, coordinating daily administrative tasks, preparing treatment rooms for examinations, and assisting our practitioners during medical procedures.

RESPONSIBILTIES: 
1. Fundamental Procedures
• Perform handwashing
• Wrap items for autoclaving
• Perform sterilization techniques
• Dispose of biohazardous materials
• Practice Standard Precautions

2. Specimen Collection
• Perform venipuncture
• Perform capillary puncture
• Obtain specimens for microbiological testing
• Instruct patients in the collection of a clean-catch, mid-stream urine specimen
• Instruct patients in the collection of a fecal specimen

3. Diagnostic Testing
• Perform electrocardiography
• Perform respiratory testing
• Perform urinalysis
• Perform hematology testing
• Perform chemistry testing
• Perform immunology testing
• Perform microbiology testing

4. Patient Care
• Perform telephone and in-person screening
• Obtain vital signs
• Obtain and record patient history
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas
• Prepare patient for and assist with routine and specialty examinations
• Prepare patient for and assist with procedures, treatments and minor office surgeries
• Apply pharmacology principles to prepare and administer medications
• Maintain medication and immunization records
• Screen and follow-up test results

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual English and Spanish required
  • Certified Medical Assistant required
  • BLS Certification
  • Currently certified by one of the organizations listed below required:

1) American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
2) Allied American Health (AAH)
3) American Medical Technologists (AMT)
4) American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) 
5) National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP)
6) National Association of Healthcare Technicians (NAHT)
7) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
8) National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
9) Medical Career Assessments (MedCA)
10) Rad tech license (AART)
