The Tram Driver is responsible for driving the tram within the community, taking residents and employees to their requested location. He/she also supports the Activities Department with general administrative duties as needed./p pstrongPrinciple Duties:/strong/p ul liPicks up and delivers residents and employees throughout the community./li liCompletes a safety check of the tram before transporting residents./li liMaintains the cleanliness of the tram, inside and out./li liDelivers mail and packages around the community, as time allows./li liClerical support duties as needed, such as stuffing resident mailboxes and running errands./li /ul pstrongRequirements:/strong/p ul liCurrent driver's license in good standing./li liPersonable and outgoing, with a desire to serve the older generation./li liExcellent customer service skills./li /ul pstrongPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions:/strong/p pMust be able to sit in a vehicle for up to 8 hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch and squat to load and unload cargo areas. Must be able to physically assist residents in boarding the tram. May be exposed to the elements (rain, cold, heat). Must have good driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. When lifting over 35 lbs, you are required to ask for assistance. Using delivery cart, walks to resident doors throughout the various buildings and villas to hand-deliver packages. Extensive walking required. Occasionally push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment generally weighing up to 50 lbs./p pstrongAbout La Costa Glen:/strong/p pLa Costa Glen is a resort-style retirement community located in beautiful North San Diego County, only two and a half miles from the Pacific.
