This position involves coordinating activities such as baggage handling, aircraft towing, and servicing aircraft, while adhering to strict safety and operational protocols. You will be pivotal in training and mentoring team members and coordinating with flight crews and other airport personnel to ensure timely aircraft turnarounds. Additionally, this role requires quick decision-making, effective problem-solving, and maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency./p p /p pstrongWHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A RAMP SUPERVISOR/strong/p ul liSupervise the ramp team operations, including aircraft loading and unloading /li liCoordinate ramp activities to ensure timely turnaround of flights /li liTrain and mentor ramp team members on operational procedures and safety protocols /li liMonitor team compliance with airline and airport regulations /li liConduct pre-shift briefings to discuss daily tasks and safety focus points /li liOversee the proper handling of baggage, cargo, and mail to prevent damage or loss /li liManage communication between the ramp team, flight crew, and ground operations /li liEnsure proper use and maintenance of ground support equipment /li liImplement and enforce safety measures and hazard prevention on the ramp /li liRespond to and manage operational issues and emergencies /li liFacilitate efficient teamwork to meet flight schedules and service standards /li liConduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to ramp team members /li liEnsure compliance with all DOT regulations as required and guidelines, including overseeing the safe and legal operation of airport vehicles, equipment, and personnel involved in airside and landside operations/li liConduct regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to DOT standards, including reviewing maintenance records, driver qualifications, and safety procedures, and provide training and updates to staff on changes in DOT regulations as required/li liLiaise with other airport departments for coordinated operations /li liMaintain accurate records of ramp operations and incidents /li liPromote a culture of safety and professionalism within the team /li liMay be assigned other duties as required/li /ul p /p pstrongQUALIFICATIONS/strong/p ul li18 years of age or older/li liEligible to work in the United States/li liMinimum of 2 years of experience in ramp operations or a related aviation field/li liProven experience in a supervisory or leadership role/li liStrong knowledge of ramp safety and operational procedures/li lispan /spanMust have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record/li lispan /spanspanAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents/spanspan /span/li liAbility to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices/li lispan /spanEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means/li liPass a background check and drug screen/li lispan /spanspanto acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)/span/li liAbility to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation/li /ul p /p pTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
