American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) position at a Level II Trauma facility, requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details- Acute care stepdown/PCU unit at a Level II Trauma facility
- 24-bed unit with a 1:3 or 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity
- Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high-flow O2 needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
- Medication drips include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and nicardipine
- EMR: Epic
- 12-hour day shifts
- May be required to work up to every other weekend
- High patient throughput consistent with a stepdown environment
- Active IL RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- BSN not required
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Stepdown or PCU experience strongly recommended given the patient population and acuity level
- A unit educator works closely with staff and is available as an ongoing resource
- 13-week contract with 12-hour day shifts
