Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level 3 Perinatal center requiring BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications.

  • >Level 3 Perinatal center providing antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • \n
  • Extreme high-risk patient population with approximately 70% of patients classified as complex high risk
  • \n
  • Facility includes a Level 4 NICU serving as a regional referral center
  • \n
  • Approximately 150 births per month
  • \n
  • Unit includes 2 ORs for C-sections, BTLs, and postpartum D&Cs
  • \n
  • Second L&D RN role available as baby catcher for well, non-compromised newborns
  • \n
  • Also provides outpatient services when the clinic is closed
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule with 4x12-hour shifts (3x12 also accepted), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • \n
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • \n
  • Weekend requirement
  • \n
  • Floating within the hospital required, no floating to sister facilities
  • \n
  • No call requirements
  • \n
  • EPIC charting system required
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active WA RN license or compact license, pending license accepted
  • \n
  • 2-3 years of L&D nursing experience required, 3 years preferred
  • \n
  • Required certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM
  • \n
  • Preferred certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, EFM, NCC
  • \n
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • \n
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • \n
  • Skills required include labor and delivery management, IV therapy, high-risk delivery assistance, and neonatal care in the delivery room
  • \n
  • Experience with fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • \n
  • Comfortable working in a high-acuity, academic medical center setting
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn stages
  • \n
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and related surgical procedures
  • \n
  • Support neonatal care immediately following delivery, including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
  • \n
  • Perform antepartum monitoring including NSTs and fetal heart rate assessments
  • \n
  • Provide postpartum care including breastfeeding support and wound care
  • \n
  • Work within a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital environment
  • \n
  • Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any color permitted for other staff
  • \n
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this role
  • \n
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • \n
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • \n
  • Prior UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
  • \n
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
