Job Summary
Provides a broad range of specialized photography services to the Department of Ophthalmology; meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range to their assigned clinical area.Job Duties
- Performs ophthalmic photography to document pathological findings and conditions, including slit lamp, fundus, external, close-up, fluorescein angiography, ocular motility studies, endothelial photomicrography, operating room procedures, and gonio photography in the support of patient care and clinical treatment with ophthalmic specialists.
- Performs routine maintenance and repair of equipment used in the ophthalmic photography area.
- Provides in-service education and orientation to ophthalmology Residents regarding the utilization of equipment and procedures to facilitate the operations of the ophthalmic photography area in patient care.
- Provides in-service training to familiarize medical photographers with ophthalmic anatomy, terminology, patient conditions, and disease processes as related to the ocular fundus and structures through which the fundus is photographed.
- Cleans photographic equipment with a germicidal detergent solution to ensure clean and sanitary conditions required.
