Summary:
We are growing our Orthopaedic Surgery service at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY and are in search of an outpatient ambulatory focused Physician Assistant (PA). In this role, the PA work alongside experienced physician and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) colleagues medically managing a variety of orthopaedic patients.PAs are integral members of our department and clinical care teams that provide comprehensive care in a multitude of orthopaedic subspecialties including trauma, sports medicine, hand, joint replacement, spine surgery, musculoskeletal oncology, pediatric orthopaedic surgery and foot and ankle surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse orthopaedic adult and pediatric traumas and acute care surgical patients.
- Medically triaging and managing inpatient orthopaedic acute consults
- Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to casting, splinting, traction and other routine orthopaedic care interventions
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant and possess or be eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license.
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in orthopaedic surgery will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
