We are seeking experienced manufacturing shipping/receiving clerk to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have solid international shipping experience in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of all major carrier shipping portals and knowledge of ERP systems. Responsible for completing physical and administrative tasks necessary for the shipping and/or receiving of supplies, materials, and finished products. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will prepare orders for shipment, verifying items against purchase orders, and adequately packing and labeling packages. They will ship outgoing materials by preparing appropriate documents using their knowledge of shipping procedures. The role also involves preparing International Shipping Documents and communicating with forwarding agents when applicable. The clerk will forward shipping documentation and records for further processing, load and unload supplies and equipment, and verify carton or pallet counts. They will inspect for visible damage, overages, and shortages, and maintain a safe work area by observing all safety policies and procedures. Additionally, the clerk will receive materials and record data as instructed, document all discrepancies on the delivering carrier's copy, and retain copies of delivery tickets while obtaining the driver's signature. They will expedite all shipments of items received to the proper destination, request service forms to ensure delivery, and compare purchase orders and packing lists to assure correct material received. The clerk will also ensure cleanliness of the dock and examine contents to compare with records, such as invoices or orders, to verify the accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments.
They will report visible/hidden damage, and overages or shortages to the supervisor, and operate various material handling equipment including, but not limited to, forklift trucks, hoists, cranes, and conveyors.
Skills:
- Certified sit down forklift
- Prepares International Shipping Documents and communicates with forwarding agents when applicable.
- Forwards shipping documentation and records for further processing.
- Expedites all shipment of items received to proper destination, requests service forms to ensure delivery, and compares purchase orders and packing lists assuring correct material received.
- Computer literate and familiar with computer systems including MS Office programs, FedEx Ship Manager, UPS Worldship, and ERP systems, preferably Syspro.
- Operates various material handling equipment including, but not limited to, forklift trucks, hoists, cranes, motorized or manual conveyors, and other equipment
- Load and unload trucks/containers
- Stock and pull inventory accurately
- Down count and record inventory pulls
- Enter shipping instructions in the international shipper
- Pull orders for manufacturing accurately and timely
- Bill of lading
- Customs documents as required by destination country
- Prepares International Shipping Documents and communicates with Forwarding agents when applicable.
- Forwards shipping documentation and records for further processing.
- Pay: $20 to $22/hr. DOE
- Schedule: 8AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday - minimum OT
- PPE: Steel toes and gloves
- Must have High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
