Job Description
Full time associate attorney in our Draper, Utah office. This position is in a small, but busy, law office providing transactional and litigation services in the following areas of law: business, real estate, estate planning, personal injury, insurance, probate, and related matters.
Our office is halfway between SLC and Orem, and is close to the mountains and unlimited recreation (winter sports, national parks, etc…). This position allows the associate to be mentored and gain experience in a variety of legal areas, to work with a small group of talented professionals, and has the potential for long term growth. The ideal candidate would have some litigation, pre-law related work experience, or other legal experience.
Qualifications
- Utah Bar License, or accredited law school graduate who waiting for bar admission
- You are organized, manage time well, punctual, and pay attention to detail.
- You are flexible and able to multitask.
- You have initiative and ability to work independently.
- You work quickly and efficiently while producing high-quality work.
- You have a positive upbeat attitude and a desire to learn.
- You are able to follow directions and work well in a small team setting.
- You are computer proficient in Word, Excel, and Westlaw or Lexis.
- You have good analytical, critical thinking, and research skills.
Task and Responsibilities:
- Prepare legal documents including letters, pleadings, contracts, and discovery
- Conduct legal and social media research
- Phone and in-person meetings with clients to answer client questions
- Respond to messages the same day they are received
- Finalize projects on time and complete job duties as assigned
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting Salary: $75K-$95K per year, DOE, plus bonuses
- Health & Dental insurance stipend
- 2 weeks paid vacation, and 2 weeks paid sick leave
- 6 paid holidays, 6 flex holidays
- Paid CLE and bar section renewal fees
- Monday to Friday-Flexible times, very occasional weekend projects
