Setting: Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) to join a progressive outpatient behavioral health clinic in Walnut Creek, CA. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, compassionate, and skilled in performing brain SPECT imaging procedures in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

This is a patient-facing role that combines technical precision with empathy and excellent communication. You will play a critical part in supporting comprehensive mental wellness strategies through safe and effective nuclear imaging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform brain SPECT scans and related quality assurance checks

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and IVs

• Process and archive scan images daily

• Maintain Odyssey system and accurate patient records/logbooks

• Conduct hot lab operations and safety monitoring (surveys, wipe tests, etc.)

• Order isotopes and manage inventory

• Perform calibrator tests: daily, quarterly, and annual quality controls

• Maintain compliance with state and federal nuclear regulations

Qualifications & Skills:

✅ Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist license – California
✅ Strong knowledge of SPECT imaging protocols (brain imaging preferred)
✅ Familiarity with Picker Prism 3000 system is a plus
✅ Proven ability to manage high patient volumes efficiently
✅ Skilled in communicating complex procedures to non-technical patients
✅ Emotionally stable and empathetic when working with both adults and children
✅ Excellent documentation and time management skills

• Climate-controlled outpatient clinic

• Moderate noise levels

• Regular use of computers, scanners, and medical devices

• Occasional lifting (up to 15 lbs)

• Sitting, typing, and machine operation for extended periods
